Grounded – A Festival of Films for the first Global Soil Week

Celebrate soil awareness!

As a public outreach program for the first Global Soil Week, convening from November 18th to 22nd in Berlin, this two-day festival at Kino Arsenal brings some of the most vivid, compelling films about soil issues from around the world to a broad based cinema-going public. The works of ten filmmakers present a diversity of personal, cultural, historical, scientific and environmental meanings of the soil in a series of feature and short film formats. The festival aims to raise awareness of the importance of soil in society, from soil as medium for food production to soil as habitat for diverse life systems.

Intended as a forum of interactive exchange and dialogue for actors from science, government, business and civil society, the first Global Soil Week is the first organized initiative in which soil and land experiences and expertise will translate into a plan of action for managing and governing land and soil sustainably into the future.
